In an effort to keep our local environment safe and clean, the City of Pittsburgh is offering drop off and pickup recycling services for residents as described below. You can rest assured that your hard to recycle materials never end up in a landfill. ECS&R is R2 certified to responsibly recycle your unwanted or broken items such as TVs, computer monitors, paint, bulbs, batteries, AC units, microwaves, and so much more!
Recycling Center Drop Offs
Drop offs is a cost effective way of recycling “hard to recycle” items and materials that are hazardous to the environment. The Pittsburgh Recycling Center is located in the Strip District at 3001 Railroad St. Pittsburgh, PA 15201. The Recycling Center is open every Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm and Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
Residents are REQUIRED to schedule a drop off time. Fees apply for most items. Credit card or check are the only forms of payment accepted.
Prepaid Curbside Pickup Service
Curbside service is prepaid only. Credit card is the only form of payment accepted. Once the form (click link below to access) is submitted, and ECS&R representative will call you within 72 business hours to collect payment.
Saturday Recycling Collection Events
The City of Pittsburgh and ECS&R are hosting Saturday Recycling Collection events in various neighborhoods throughout the City. Events are scheduled from 9 am to 1 pm but maybe extended based on level of participation. Residents are REQUIRED to schedule a drop off time in order to minimize wait times and ensure customer safety. Fees apply for most items. Credit cards or checks are the only forms of payment accepted.
